:blue-lol: :blue-lol: Now for some real Advice...

Rob, just watch out for those Boere... Hulle BLIKSUM!!!
Well you have all been so helpful it is frightening... there are fines a plenty and dinger beatings to follow. There may also be the odd knee to the groin for some as well! :blue-biggrin:
I actually lived in Kimberley for 10 years before exchanging the "gat" for "lekker by die see".

There are currently no dams in Kimberley with bass - that I know off. The military base had a pond with some rats in its but it has since dried up.

If you are into artlure - the vaal river is about 30km out of town near Barkley West and we have caught many yellows and barbel near the high water bridge on shallow running rapalas and flukes.

If you are keen to travel you can go to Krugerdrift dam just outside Bloem. It has bass but I have never been - Its about 120km's from Kby. Another option might be Spitzkop dam which is about 90km's out of Kby on the old cape town road.

I would however not bank on the fishing coz it gets fkn cold up there this time of year and you would probably be better off giving your money to the Flamingo Casino.

And there may even be the odd assault with a baksteen! :blue-biggrin:
Firstly, Kimberley is not in the Free State. There are some sand dunes nearby with sand bass which you catch with sand worms. So don,t say that the guys are not helpful, we are only trying to help!!!
Oh CBC you have been free from fines up until now and on my next trip to CT I will have to bring a 7” Dinger with so I can beat you with it! :blue-biggrin:

OK so it looks like I won’t be taking my rods with to Kimberly then.
:blue-sad:
