I spotted this new sign at Inanda.

Personally I think it is great. I wonder if it is going to be at all the Msinsi Resorts? Was there any comps scheduled during this time at Inanda?

Lets hope they can enforce it, what about the locals ..... :blue-doubt:

Well done Inanda!

10 Points!!

If it's at all Msinsi resorts, then there is a problem with the Alberts Tournament as it's on last weekend of August...
Personally I think August is the wrong month as it's too early for the spawn to try protect spawning bass... What do you guyz think?

My Zim $

:blue-biggrin: Wink
Won't work in the da Cape... still too cold that time of the year for spawn
Looks right for Natal.
Albert's closed September.

I don't really know enough to comment on whether it the right or wrong thing or right or wrong time...

But I like the idea that someone is trying to do the right thing!

Well said! :blue-cool:
Do you guys think someone woke up and smelt the coffe that there is money to be made in bass fishing and they are trying to preserve it nice.i would say they need to get professional help to manage it properly hope they thought of that.
Ja, where is the scientific evidence that what they are doing is best for the fish??
No indigenous species are spawning at that time anyway?
I dont think there was any science behind the decision but what is a fact though is that the fish will not be hammered by US for a month - that can only do them a world of good in my opinion.

Cant say much for the locals nor on how Msinsi intend to police this rule :blue-idea:
UJ and Rhodes university are both running extensive Bass study groups, which I'm trying to get onto as a volunteer. They have lots of info through there relevant websites, maybe this could be related to one of their studies? UJ have a nice private dam were they do there studies, maybe I can get to fish it....... :-)
I'm not aware of any studies being conducted on Inanda? Anyone else?

No - this is definitely a Mnsinsi initiative.
Shouldn't it be during the spawn? which seems to be the easiest time to catch them and probably damage and disrupt them them from multiplying

Yip it should... but which spawn and when will they spawn?
August is spawning time in Inanda for the big girls who drop the most eggs with the right DNA.
Albert Falls is September.

I think this is brilliant, Msinsi has many Biologists to gain knowledge from and make no mistake you don't need to be a scientist to see how bad the fishing has become in Inanda over the past 5 years
