A week to go, weather looking good, winning boat ready, dam shutting off for fishing, the odd 3kg+ fish been coming out but that's a secret, hyacinth moves dependant on wind + being controlled, lekka hot stable weather next week plus full dam....................okes, if ever there was a challenge with some of the best prizes in the country, this is it, and entries are open till the start.......it's the right thing to do.

Ja Smurf and as I explained many posts back, we are working on the fishery and we will improve it in the years to come.
That aside, when the big kickers show themselves the okes all say what a good fishery it is.........seems like TWK has a similar stigma.
Wriggleswade hosted a successful Snr Nationals lasy year and will also be hosting the Provincials this year which says something.
The prizes just keep getting better and as they say, even a blind fowl can pick up a mielie........

All of you heading to the classic should consider filling up with fuel TODAY.
Fuel price increase of 80 odd cents a litre from tomorrow

I'm watching all the important weather sites but it's still early days to predict accurately. Put my ear to the ground as well but with this heat I just ended up burning it......
All indications are that IF RAIN, light and scattered and light SE winds on Sat and E to NE light on sunday. FOG (as usual and good for those with hangovers who need coffee) on both mornings and typical of Autumn patterns......doesn't look too bad!
Will update daily.

We have also consulted with the local most knowledgeable angler known as Dr. Bennett, and he concurs that there is no cause for concern. He insists the weather will be good enough for him to retain the heaviest bag spot...........we have a bag of potatoes for in case and Dr. Bennett, if youoofkyk this, ask one of your sangoma patients to gooi those bones for the weather..!

Latest update:
If anything, the strongest winds and possibility of rain (thunderstorms) is Friday afternoon / evening and Sunday after the prizegiving. The actual fishing times looks like moderate consistent cooler weather with trace amounts of rain. The fog warning is still in place and to be expected this time of the year.
