Buffelspoort dam overnight camping

Postby pitman » 06 Sep 2016, 08:04

Hi All fellow anglers,

I am thinking of going to Buffelspoort dam and camping over at the dam for the weekend around the end of September. Can you tell me what the security and facilities are like (ablutions etc). Does anyone have a cost per night. I would like to take my bass boat along too, and it has all the necessary paperwork.

Any comments?

thanks

Hi Pitman,

I have only been there for a day at a time but with the amount of people camping there it must be very safe. They are also very strict with the enforcement of the rules and regulations so you will not have any issues with loud music, drunk people etc. The ablutions are not new but they are very clean and neat. You have warm water with baths and showers, flush toilets at the main ablution block and if I am not mistaken there are portable loo's further away where the carp anglers camp. The prices are not too bad. For the day with the bass boat and 2 anglers, I think it is R120.00. Not sure for camping. This dam is the only dam know where you cab have excellent bass fishing during the night!! The guys catch monster bass with texas rigged worms that they slowly bring in on the bottom. I hope this info helps.
