Northern Cape bass fishing

Bass Fishing waters discussion area that doesn?t fall into a specific province

Northern Cape bass fishing

Postby Dellas » 20 Jun 2013, 08:37

Does anyone have any info on bassing in the Northern Cape? I'm moving to Kathu over December and don't know any bassers from the region.

Any help would be awesome!

I used to live in KBY and the only bass fishing we had there was at the army base.

As far as I know either Kathu or Kuruman has a nicely stocked bass dam which is managed by the local fishing club.

I recall reading somewhere on this site (think a post by CBC) that there were bass in Spitskop dam which is not too far from Kathu.

If all else fails there is some awesome artlure opportunities for Yellowfish and Mr Whiskers in the Vaal and Orange River.

Other options (quite a bit of travelling though) for you would be Gariep Dam or Taung Dam.

There are also a couple of private dams in the Warrenton and Vaalharts districts.

Daar is nogsteeds n dam net buite Kathu. kiaaple of so iets is die dam se naam.

As dinge verloop soos ek beplan sal ek die naweek daar uitkom.

Ek werk tussen Postmasburg en Kathu

Ok die regte spelling is khai Apple dam.

Ek was vandag daar vir so 4 ure maar niks gemaak nie.
