Ebenezer Dam

Ebenezer Dam lies approximately 30 km upstream from Tzaneen Dam on the Great Letaba River. Ebenezer is quite different to Tzaneen, being situated high in the Magoebaskloof and is a cool, clear lake.

While Ebenezer contains plenty of largemouth bass, fish of up to 4 kg have been caught, it is one of the few dams in the Northern parts of the country to contains smallmouth bass. The lake is situated in picturesque and serene surroundings in a temperate climate, anglers will often be enveloped in a mountain mist, unusual in this generally hot part of the country.

The lake can be divided into 2 main areas, the river section which has some rock and standing trees and the main lake which has some bluff banks, gravel and chunk rock as well as the odd, sparse aquatic vegetation. If the angler can locate a laydown log or brush pile it's quite likely to produce fish.
