I, myself am on Fluoro 16LB (7KG) for general cast and retrieve but I have a sinking feeling when I hit that new PB Bass it will snap and I could lose that expensive jerk bait.

What's your default and go to? Braid, Fluro or Mono?

16lb??? I cant even spell that high. 

For me, its lighter line that works better, all flouro (Gamma brand). Except for braid, which is braid of course (before some smart ass recons otherwise)

Weightless - 6lb (but the gamma brand which is equal to 8lb other brands)
Texas/Mojo - 10 and 12lb (12 for the tree's and reeds)
Carolina - 12lb main line with 8lb or 10lb leader
Braid (drop shots etc)- 12lb with 10 lb flouro leader
Cranks - 8lb 
Jerk baits - 8lb 

Where do you plan on catching a 16lb/7kg bass? Even on the breede I wont go more than 12lb for bass. 

Yeah sure, if you play in grass banks all the time maybe up your braid to 20lb. 

To me, line is everything - not the rod, the reel, bait or the hook. I'm not sponsored by Gamma, only I profuse that they are the best as Tatsu you need a 3rd mortgage on your house to buy the stuff

I grew up fishing 4.5 kg (10 lb) Maxima green mono and still have a bit of an addiction for 10 lb.

Managed my 2 biggest bass on 10lb fluoro and 10lb mono.

Might go up to 15 lb fluoro for the thick stuff.

Lightest I will go is 8lb fluoro. especailly for weightless,  light texas and light mojo

Cranking 10lb fluoro or mono

Top-water 10lb mono

Recently started fishing Vicious Fluoro and have not been able to beat the price/perfomance ratio with any other line. Love the fact that 500m rolls are freely available so with backing wastage is a lot less.

This line got me a lekka 2.8 kg and 1.8 kg at the last Theewaterskloof Classic without breaking a sweat

No, just decent line. 

I rig a 1 ounce weight on my carolina rig on 12 pound line.

It all depends where you fish & also if you fish of a boat/ kick boat or from the side...

If there no structure 10LB

If you fish trees/reeds go to 15LB

Pitching thick stuff 20LB even 50LB Brain
