Rob I have seen the masks at bass world pta and remember some silly price like R900 or something. I was advised to rather buy a paintball mask for a fraction of the price.

Pomerob please have a really good look at them next time you are there? paintball masks are pretty kak and everytime I have been to shoot people with paint I find them uncomfortable (I wear glasses) and winter is coming and there is no way I?m going to scream across Albert Falls in mid winter without some face protection this year. If you tell me they are the same as paint ball masks I?ll be forced to get an el?cheapo mask? but if they are worth the money then I want to get one.

Let me tell you I was contemplating to buy one just after the Witbank Classic. it rain the morning and even with my slow 35Km/h boat I was in pain from where we left until an hour after we started fishing. Raindrops on a bare face at speed is no joke.

Lukas i understand , but i have never seen that before .

- robfisher - 03-08-2007

You just have to be doing around 75km/h on Albert Falls in Winter or on Albert Falls in a rain storm to understand why someone would want to put on one of these lunatic masks! ;-)

The funny thing is before the start of the first morning of the Witbank Classic boat 40 alias Van Zuidam and co angler dressed up in these Bass Pro 100M/H suits and I thought well they are rigged for the rain and what else the weather can throw at them. Then out came the Fish Hedz Mask. I even made a smart crack at them and said I did not know Darth Fader is a bass fishermen. All the anglers around us canned them for my joke. Ten minutes later I was wacked silly by rain drops...I did not laugh again.

Oli just a couple of months ago Joe and myself were caught in a hail storm, there was nothing we could do but put our backs to the storm and cover ourselves as best as possiable. One big bliksem hail stone nailed me right on the ear and it stung for hours. I now carry an umbrella on the boat, not to keep dry but to hide under incase of hail.
