Maguga Dam

Maguga Dam is the most recent buzz word in the Southern African bass Fishing fraternity. Located on the Komati River, Maguga Dam is home to some 'monster" bass with some record catches over the past 6 months. The current Swaziland record stands at 5.4kg, caught in mid September 2007, Maguga offers a unique bass fishing experience, bass between 2.5kg to 5.0kg can be expected so bring heavy line and sturdy tackle.

Accommodation at the dam is at the luxury Maguga Lodge which is fast becoming home to the bass fishermen. It offers stunning accommodation in idyllic surrounds; as well as an excellent restaurant; a fully licensed bar and an amazing deck to share the day's fishing tales. Maguga lodge offers various fishing packages for groups that will ensure that you maximize those delightful hours out on the water!

HISTORY OF MAGUGA
The Maguga Dam is situated about 12 km south of Pigg's Peak. The wall has a total height of 115m, making it the fifth highest dam in Southern Africa after Katse and Mohale (Lesotho), Kariba (Zimbabwe) and Cabora Bassa (Moçambique). When full the dam has a capacity of 332 million cubic meters and a surface area of 1042 hectares.
