I just joined, moved from the NW to Pringle Bay about 4 years ago, looking for some bass fishing near me in the Overberg region. Can someone please give me some more information about Debos Dam, do you need permission to fish there and maybe some other spots.

I am in the market for a new or good secondhand one and would like to find out regarding engine size? Does the boat perform adequately with a 115 merc 4 stroke or is a 150 needed? I am not looking for ultimate speed. Just good allround performance. The plan is to buy right the first time and not need to upgrade soon.

The options at the moment is second hand:
Merc 150 optimax
Merc 150 EFI
Yamaha 150 2 stroke
Merc 200 EFI

And then new:
Merc 115 4 stroke
Suzuki DF 140 A 4 stroke ( reports say engine is a bit pap)
Merc 150 4 stroke 
Suzuki DF 200 A 4 stroke ( cheaper than merc 150 ) 

The CB500 boat is 5 m / 16 ft and rated from 90 to 200 hp.
Any input will be appreciated

Ive heard shimano has a new agent in SA, does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

If so who is the new agent. 

I'm trying to find out what the new rods that are coming in will be. Zodias? intenza? exprite? I have curados but have seen that they are being discontinued in the states.

I'm Mogs, Its great to virtually meet you and totally new to bass fishing. I have been rock and surf fishing for all my life however, I have been living in Gauteng Centurion area for around 13years now. I don't get much time to travel to the coast to fish so I decided to take up bass fishing. I have tried Carp fishing but its not something I'm totally passionate about. Bass fishing I feel is as closest to sea fishing I can get. As I am new I would love it any of you can give me any advice or tips. 

I currently have the below setups:

Rod - Sensation Tournament Weapon Pro 
Reel - Abu Garcia Blue Max 
Line - Berkley Vanish 12LB Clear 

Rod - Shimano Alivio DX Spinning Med/Heavy 
Reel - Daiwa Laguna Spinning 3000
Line - Boss Braid 20LB 

Thats all i have so far, please can you guys advise me what else as beginner i should get.
