Very sad state...our WCBAA bass fishing season was severely impacted by the drought to the extend that we could not even fish Kwaggaskloof this year.

We will have to take a serious look at predicted dam levels in planning our upcoming season.

Extremely slowly. They now almost finished relocating the N7. At least 3 years before the wall is complete. It was scheduled as a 5 year project.

There are some positives re the low water level @ TWK...

Grass banks & brush piles growing like a bomb!

Gone be fun when the dam fills...

That's a fact. Last time we had these sort of water levels was about 11 years ago. Kwaggas dropped to 17% (currently the level is 24%). The dam did not fill to capacity for 3 years and loads of new bushes and Port Jackson grew below the high water mark. The year that lot got submerged the fishing was fantastic. The same happened at TWK. So yes....there is a positive side to low water levels.

The only up side to these dry conditions is the opportunity to create some of the best fishing charts in the world using the latest in drone and photogrammetry technology, like what I have just done with Clanwilliam Dam.

Not to mention the major increase in the amount of informal dwellings that have sprung up behind Clan. \
Take a look for yourselves! right behind some poor chap's holiday homes.

That coupled with a booming economy :eusa_liar: should make for a onslaught for mr bass for now and the future (free source of protein) at clan. Much like the gill netting issues seen up north.

Hopefully the new larger dam capacity compeasates for this? :eusa_sick: :eusa_doh:
