It sort of changed for me.

The first soft plastic I threw was a Fluke and that was my favourite until I bought my first bass boat.

After fishing with new partners, it progressed to a Grub, then it became a Fluke-Grub combination like the Ubershad and now lately the Senko has become my go-to bait.

I'm not harping on sponsors here, but have you ever thrown a weightless ztoo?

Ps: my 2nd choice is a grub and a close 3rd a fighting frog

Zoom Super Fluke Watermelon Seed ..... why, because you can fish it in a hundred differed ways (even sideways) and many a 4kg bass has fell for it :blue-biggrin:

4" Senko for me. Probably the most versatile bait around. Can be fished around any structure and on most rigs.

I've actually never tried it weightless. Will definitely give this a try.

I'll let the secret out the bag for a weightless Ztoo... Use it as a top water instead of a spook. If the water is like glass with no ripples, toss out the Ztoo and walk the dog with it like you do on a spook.

I have also thrown it on a "moertjie rig" aka small shiny nut hanging on the bottom of the hook like a CBC rig with a slightly heavier Mustad hook for neutral buoyancy.

Gave me this fish at Bulshoek fishing with my good pall Plasticman.

With that smooth water, you should have thrown it as a top water.
