He's been so quite of late that if he also commented, this site would look like a WC forum. Tongue in cheek comment.......sorry!
Is Capiez an IGFA record holder?
I tried to get more info online for IGFA Freshwater records but you have to be a member to access the site. I thought it was just for world records in different line classes?

I think he holds the world record for one of the Tomen (Snakehead) species.

This is where the current SA record of August's fish stands.

Yes he holds the record for a Chevron snakehead he caught: http://wrec.igfa.org/WRecordsList.aspx?l...%20chevron

That guy looks less than impressed to have caught that bass. If I caught it you would have to surgically remove the smile from my face :blue-biggrin:

Not wanting to cause strife or question the report but that doesn't look like a 15.5lb fish (unless the lucky angler is like 6'8"). See link (in a hurry & forgotten how to post a pic) for a 15.2lb US LM.

Frankly if it is the biggest bass caught in SA and the weight is verified then it is the record to beat regardless of whether it is recognised by a fishing body or not.

Hands up who wants to hold an 'official' SA bass record that is smaller than the biggest legally caught SA bass...

I came, I saw, I caught nothing.

I agree that the fish doesn't look as big as other 15 lb fish. But we could be wrong and it's still an awesome catch.

Nico Mathee's 15lb fish.

photo's do not do BIG fish any justice.

Correction... Big okes don't do big fish any justice, ask me I know. My 4,46kg from Letsibogo looks like a dink in the photo's.

However this bass that Nico caught was massive!! I could literally fit both my fists in it's mouth. Roundest and fattest bass I have ever seen.

Saw this guy at the IBC and he is most definitely a big man - 6"+

I have also spoken to a chap who fished very close to Leon on the morning that the fish was caught and he reckons that was the biggest bass he has ever seen and he has caught 5kg+ bass before.

Definitely a case of the photo not doing the fish the justice it deserves.
