Hi all..
Just a quick introduction, I'm De Waal!
I stay in brackenfell Western Cape and I try to fish as much as possible, almost daily. I mainly fish at Fishershaven, Le Bonheur, Doordekraal, Hillcrest and also a few private dams and the occasional clanwilliam trip. My current pb is 2,7kg and I can't wait to better it! I'm always open to learn new trades and I have a dream of representing our country! I'm looking forward to learning from this forum and meeting fellow anglers!

Hillcrest tend to always produce the same for me. I only fish the once a month due to the fact that I know it holds really nice fish. But for some reason fishing stays hard there and I always end up with allot of small fish and one good size fish. I fished there last week and got a 1.5kg and about 10 small fish under 500g. There is thousands of small fish. They tend to chase your bait in groups of up to 20 at a time. And they charge R100 a day.

Fishershaven is hard to put a coin on what it is, its only a 5min drive from where I stay so I tend spend allot of time there. it holds really good fish. I have caught a few fish just under 2kg there. biggest being 1.98kg. the only problem with the place in my opinion is that it gets over fished on weekends, its not strange to see 20 - 30 anglers there excluding the kickboat/float-tube guys. Sometimes you can literally put the bait in the fishes mouth but it wont bite, and you can still see the scar from the previous catch! They charge R40 for the day and also have a really nice bar / venue there for after a day of fishing.
