Whats going on in this picture? - theBee - 11-23-2016 Hi there guys So what would you say is happening at Mofam on this picture? [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] Re: Whats going on in this picture? - Navrik - 11-23-2016 The word papgooi comes to mind... ...maybe they should tie a Senko to one of their hooks as well. Re: Whats going on in this picture? - theBee - 11-23-2016 What if I tell you they caught 15 fish... Re: Whats going on in this picture? - Ginja - 11-23-2016 I've seen quite a couple of dead carp on the sides of the river when they still had boats. It's surprising to see they allow people to fish of the side like that taking into consideration how "difficult" they have been in regards to fishing in the past. Re: Whats going on in this picture? - Floatie - 11-23-2016 Flip... I've never seen a carp in that place. Ag all the best to 'guys who target carp there. Each to there own. Re: Whats going on in this picture? - smurf - 11-23-2016 I was there that day as well...you will be very surprised at what those 15 fish were. Re: Whats going on in this picture? - Southpaw - 11-23-2016 Carp? Barbel? Eel? Re: Whats going on in this picture? - theBee - 11-24-2016 The guys were actually catching trout!!!! So the trout came from trout farm/cages where they were fed pellets. Pellets very similiar to the 'floaties' carp fisherman use. These fisherman tell me that the first time they came to Mofam was to catch Carp. Obviously they caught no carp but to their surprise they caught 15 trout. (2 weekends ago). Last weekend the water was much warmer and they only caught 1 trout of 3.5kg! Luckily all catch and release. I must say I was flabbergasted when I first saw Carp fisherman at Mofam! Re: Whats going on in this picture? - Southpaw - 11-25-2016 I can believe that. Forgot about the trout. Didnt think they would be eating so deep. When I worked at the Trout farm in Jonkershoek we used to crush the pellets and make a pap and drop a hook between the cages while working and pull out a couple escapees. Re: Whats going on in this picture? - Jacquesera33 - 12-01-2016 I'm afraid the rumors are true! We specimen Carp anglers can catch Trout too. Big surprise to me and my Dad! Lots of fun! Pictures attached! Re: Whats going on in this picture? - Jacquesera33 - 12-01-2016 Proof! Re: Whats going on in this picture? - Jacquesera33 - 12-01-2016 And more! Re: Whats going on in this picture? - Southpaw - 12-01-2016 Very cool! My dad caught one on a senko a few years back. But the big question is have you caught carp at mofam? Re: Whats going on in this picture? - Jacquesera33 - 12-02-2016 Definitely no Carp at Mofam. Anybody with a theory why that might be? Re: Whats going on in this picture? - theBee - 12-02-2016 Those pics are awesome and those trout look like they are in extremely good condition!
