SABAA/WCBAA info - WCBAA - 08-21-2015 Hi all Please see the attached message. I am sorry about the delay. I am also sorry i cannot post this normally but all i could manage was a pdf attachment, otherwise my tables get all buggered up. Have a lekker friday. Rowan Re: SABAA/WCBAA info - Toadee - 08-21-2015 Very tempting! Re: SABAA/WCBAA info - Navrik - 08-21-2015 Toadee with your ship you should join us for regionals. :blue-cool: Re: SABAA/WCBAA info - BillyBass - 08-21-2015 This is a no brainer in my book guys. Personally I saved a lot of money just in launching fees last season as a result of being a silver member of SABAA and not to mention being able to register my recent catch at TWK as the new WP record. The only possible negative if one can call it that is that being a silver member means you would also have to adhere to the cut off periods prior to a regional taking place on a particular dam. However this has never affected me as we don't fish during the cut offs on those dams as a matter of respect for those anglers that will be fishing the upcoming regional. Any how everyone is different and have their own views on particular things. I just thought I'd share mine. Thanks Rowan for the update and once again a big congrats to the Protea team that you were a part of for winning the Region 5 and also congrats on your 6 kilo donkey. Well done. Re: SABAA/WCBAA info - Toadee - 08-21-2015 How often and how long are the cut-off periods? Re: SABAA/WCBAA info - WCBAA - 08-21-2015 We have cutoff periods before each divisional. It is 14 days before the event. Divisional dates are as follows: 21/22 Nov 15: Clan/Clan 20/21 Feb 16: TWK/Kwaggas 19 March 16: Kwaggas 16 April: TWK Re: SABAA/WCBAA info - WCBAA - 08-21-2015 I see that I have neglected to mention that malcolm from ol bigmouth has also played a big part in getting this school bass angling programme off the ground.. Apologies for the oversight malcolm Re: SABAA/WCBAA info - Bergie - 08-22-2015 Morning Rowan, Maybe you should post and entrance/application form for those that are interested in joining WCBAA/SABAA. Bergie. Re: SABAA/WCBAA info - WCBAA - 08-24-2015 Hi guys, a few of you have shown interest on how to sign up. Here is how: You need to be a member of a SABAA affiliated club. From there you pay your subs as i laid out and you're in. Now the various clubs have different fees, for example we have a R50 fee for social members, Craig's club- Tafelberg, has no fees but some obligations when it comes to raising funds for the TWK classic. Each one different. I would just get in touch with the various clubs and decide which is best for you. Alternatively if you can raise 7 members you can form you own club and affiliate to SABAA. There is no affiliation fee, you just need the min number of members and a Constitution etc. This may be a good loophole to avoid any kind of clubfees etc. Hope that helps. Here are the club chairmans' numbers: Tafelberg: Johan Landman 082 eight eight one 1533 Highlands: Rowan Timmer- 079 eight zero four 5343 Tygerberg: Steven Versfeld - 082 eight two three 5800 Bayside: Marc Bywater- 083 nine six zero 6108 Hope this helps. Shout if you need any more info. Re: SABAA/WCBAA info - smurf - 08-24-2015 I was thinking that I was going to take up the 'Affilliate Membership' which I read as "being a new category designed for people that are not members of SABAA or a Club". This would have suited me, and many othersI assume, as we don't really want to be club members, but would like to affilliate to SABAA. Pity and thanks for your info thus far. Re: SABAA/WCBAA info - Bergie - 08-24-2015 Hi Rowan, I must admit that on reading your attachment of Friday 21st , I think is is a bit contradictory to what you have posted this morning. If there are fisherman out there that would like to take up the membership of WCBAA, why should they have to be a member of a club to become affiliated to SABAA. Surely from your original letter, you are looking for "new blood" to join country wide by offering the R50 package and the R550.00 package. If they join WCBAA surely they would then be affiliated to SABAA an need not take the route of joining a "club" so to speak and especially from a financial point of view! I ask this purely looking at it from a new guy looking into "socially" joining WCBAA/SABAA to which I believe you are trying to attract. Bergie. Re: SABAA/WCBAA info - Navrik - 08-24-2015 Please note I have made some corrections to Rowan's info on 2 of the club chairmen Re: SABAA/WCBAA info - Mick - 08-24-2015 Alternatively if you can raise 7 members you can form you own club and affiliate to SABAA. There is no affiliation fee, you just need the min number of members and a Constitution etc. This may be a good loophole to avoid any kind of clubfees etc. So then all we need is a constitution for BFSA and we can then join SABAA? Re: SABAA/WCBAA info - WCBAA - 08-24-2015 Bergie Thanks for your comments. You have to be part of a club affiliated to SABAA. So the choice is either join an existing club or get some guys together and form your own. You can't be a part of WCBAA without being a part of a club. That's not a new rule and not specific to WCBAA. Its like that in all divisions. The clubs are your link to SABAA nationally and the way to voice queries and concerns. Club meetings are where the whole process starts from deciding venues and dates for divisionals, to issues brought up at SABAA AGM etc. Mick to answer your question: If there are more than 7 members of BFSA who want to join SABAA/WCBAA then all you have to do is email those names and a constitution (which can just be the SABAA one) and you have a SABAA affiliated club. You will then pay your subs to WCBAA as BFSA club (for example) and thats it. We created Highlands 2 years ago and it is a simple easy process. So the answer is yes. Re: SABAA/WCBAA info - Riprap - 08-25-2015 Morning gents, just a correction. A chapter must have a minimum of 6 members to be recognised, all of whom must be association members. |
