I notice we have had a few newbies join in the last couple of weeks but not a single post in this Forum :-(

Where are all the newbies in the forums, we need fresh ideas and advice.

I will sponsor a Quantum bait caster rod for the first newbie with 10 posts or more who joins us at the BFSA winter tour.

We dont bite unless your name is Majorie :twisted:

Ok pomerob, i am a newby and have been watching all the interesting chatter. Retired from rock and surf ( no fish !!) and making my way through all the fabulous aspects of bass fishing. Been out twice and I am hooked big time !!

Do I qualify for the baitcaster as I only renewed my account recently after being away for a while!? Welcome to the forum DanielDog hope you find it helpful! The tour is like a main gathering of the members how fish against each other. Look at the link to find out more

Hiya DanielDog,

Good to see a newbie climbing into the forums... beware... this becomes addictive very quickly... you will learn a great deal from the old dogs and have a lot of fun chatting in the forums.
Click on the following link to go to the BFSA Tour Forum...

<!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://www.bassfishing.co.za/bassingnews/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=52">modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=52</a><!-- l -->

But in a nutshell it is a get-together and competition all rolled into one... BFSA members come from all over the country to spend 3 days fishing, having fun, caring and sharing, learning and hopefully winning some prizes. The next one is at Inanda Dam in July (13, 14 and 15th).

haha, you wish VX, you already had more than 10 posts with the new account when this post went out so already for the 2nd time your an old hand at this.

Welcome DanielDog. I have seen you online and I actually thought you were RobDog's son, he is also very keen and his name is also Daniel. Anyway dont be shy, we speak a looooooot of kak in the forums but every now and again there is some useful information that may help you catch your next fish or help get that new PB. Some of us are old hands at the sport with many years of experiance, some are Pro's, some are Ex or current SA fisherman and some are relatively new to the sport. The one thing we do have in common is the passion and love of this sport.

Personally since I have been a member my fishing has come along in heaps and bounds plus I have met a few good friends along the way. So welcome once again, we look forward to meeting you in the forums Wink

Just joined the forums, I've come across this website many times but never taken the step of joining. You know how it is, many sites make great promises but once they've taken your money you discover that they lack the substance. Thanks to Bergie for recommending that I join, I haven't been disappointed with the content. Great site.

I was a fanatical bassaholic some years back but pressure of work and family life kind of got in the way. I've been doing some fly fishing for trout in the western cape streams in the intervening 10 years or so with the odd bass fishing sortie. Anyway in the past few months I've found myself with more time available and have been getting back into the bassing world. Got myself a boat and have been honing my old skills (did I ever have them?), looking forward to interacting with the guys and girls on these forums and of course getting out on the water, plenty.
