CrankbaitCarl Wrote:Applethwaite dam, never fished it so I googled it and maybe I have the wrong dam as Escom claim to be the owners of this dam. Is there more than one Applethwaite dam near Grabouw if not then I am in the pound seats...

Shit I hope Eskom don't realise it's theirs. Fishing supply is already limited, if Eskom get it'll be lights out completely...

bass fishing is like a drug addiction... A person goes to extreme lengths to peruse the high. Don't ever take drugs JM. If you take chances like this to go fishing.

Applebass I unfortunately cannot make it for the comp, would've loved to. Is the damwall (the big curved one) on this dam, also is this dam in the Palmiet river.
I have a small holding on the Letaba river and the weir is on my property, but I am not the owner of the dam. By law no public person can be the owner of a dam which is part of a river system. All dams belong to the State.
My son is busy stocking ''our'' dam as the locals netted out all the big fish. The other farmers alongside the dam are all into guarding against netting, so hopefully we can restore it.No help from government. We can only restrict entrance to our properties, but below the flood line they can walk freely.

Juba I do not want to tresspass ever, but THEN the law must specify clearly what tresspassing means.I am thinking of the Bergriver canoe race, has anybody ever asked the farmers bordering this stretch for permission. Are they all trespassing?

JM... From the correspondence we`ve had to the few comps ive seen you at.... Don't sweat the small stuff, you admitted to your doing which takes a lot of balls. You do a lot for the sport at such a young age and few can boast such credentials. Also use the anger directed to you and meet these ones that slam you for your mistake on the comp circuit and beat them. I back you and your fishing knowledge and if people cannot forgive a mistake then they are the one that need to grow a pair. Thank u for your honesty and its gonna be a shame not having u at the comp big guy. Peace

No, I think it was taken off.

I got a mail from another user who agreed with what I wrote. I am disappointed.

Just check the result windows when you post something. If you and someone else post at the system time your post does not go through. By checking the result window you will be able to see it and be able to use your back button in your browser and then re-submit. It is known issue on the site and has been reported before.

Chapter 2: Bill of Rights[edit]
Main article: Chapter 2 of the Constitution of South Africa
Chapter 2 is a bill of rights which enumerates the civil, political, economic, social and cultural human rights of the people of South Africa. Most of these rights apply to anyone in the country, with the exception of the right to vote, the right to work and the right to enter the country, which apply only to citizens. They also apply to juristic persons to the extent that they are applicable, taking into account the nature of the right. The rights enumerated are:

Section 9: the right to equality before the law and freedom from discrimination. Prohibited grounds of discrimination include race, gender, sex, pregnancy, marital status, ethnic or social origin, colour, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, conscience, belief, culture, language and birth.
Section 10: the right to human dignity.
Section 11: the right to life, which has been held to prohibit capital punishment,[8] but does not prohibit abortion.[9]
Section 12: the right to freedom and security of the person, including protection against arbitrary detention and detention without trial, the right to be protected against violence, freedom from torture, freedom from cruel, inhuman or degrading punishment, the right to bodily integrity, and reproductive rights.
Section 13: freedom from slavery, servitude or forced labour.
Section 14: the right to privacy, including protection against search and seizure, and the privacy of correspondence.
Section 15: freedom of thought and freedom of religion.
Section 16: freedom of speech and expression, including freedom of the press and academic freedom. Explicitly excluded are propaganda for war, incitement to violence and hate speech.
