The only local comp I haven?t entered is the SA Bass CFC... I don?t do Midmar... ;-) I reckon after all the crap with the final Champion of Champions and coupled with the compo being at Midmar they are going to have a very small entry.

With all the crap with the champion of champions I am surprised they have any entries, but yet again I am sure alot of the contestants are in the dark about what happened.

A lot of people say look for deep water close to shallow water. As the bass would not have to move very far to feed. What are your take on this?

They are 100% correct, you will often find several big fish in those areas. The big fish will chase the small fish from the drop off into the shallows plus a lot of the smaller fodder fish live full time in the shallows. But as far as know the larger fish will only visit for a short period of time and then return to the deeps. If you find these highways you will at some stage of the day find fish.
