Feel Like a Rookie.

Hi guys

I?m now in a flat spin and confused like you can not believe :? . I?m fishing the BETT this weekend as a non boater and I have no clue what to pack. I can?t pack all my gear otherwise the poor boater won?t have any space for his tackle. So here I am feeling like a rookie, well to be honest I?m still a rookie according to Andy ?Cooch? Cuccia. He said you will stay a rookie until you have won a tournament of some sort. Back to my headache, I?m thinking of packing 10 rods. Here is my selection.

Drop Shot - 10lb Berkley Vanish Flu - 6? Med Lite Rod with bait caster
Weightless normal worm hook for a senko - 14lb Berkley Van Flu-6?6 Med Hvy rod with bait caster.
WDG Hook Mojo Rig for a Fluke - 14lb Berkley Van Flu - 6?6 Med Hvy rod with bait caster.
Norm Worm Hook mojo rig for smaller plastics - 14lb Berk Van Flu - 6?6 Med Hvy rod with bait caster.
Texas Rig - 20lb Berk Van Flu - 6?6 Med Hvy rod with bait caster.
Jig - 20lb Berk Van Flu - 6?6 Hvy rod with bait caster.
Topwater - 50lb spiderwire stealth - 6?6 Hvy rod with bait caster.
Jerkbait and Crankbaits - 14lb Berk Van Flu - 6?6 Med Hvy with bait caster.
Ultra lite drop shot - 4lb P-line Floroclear - 5?6 Ultra lite rod with spinning reel.

So what is the verdict? 8O Will this cover everything? As you can see I didn?t do any pre fishing so now I have to throw everything I got at them.
I will gladly accept any advice .

SocalBass, the best advice that I can give you is to fish your strenghts in a comp.
For instance if you have very little success using a jig, don't try to improve your jig fishing skills in a comp.
Fish your strenghts and leave the experimenting to the social days.
Fish baits that you have confidence in or you won't fish them properly.

As for the "Rookie" statement, you don't have to have won a comp to be a good fisherman, go kick some butt.

i agree with Shannon Socal...when it come to a comp.,do what you do best and leave the experimental time aside.

One is only a rookie when you are a beginner and hardly know anything about bassfishing.
