New Boat.

Hello guys, Im new to this forum.

Ive recently bought a bass boat cost me about R20 000. best thing I could find for the price,that you could use straight away that included a fish finder and Trolling motor.

Although it seems failry decent, id like to make a few changes to it and would appriciate advice from people that have the know how.

It has a 30hp 2 stroke mercury outboard. Steering has been connected and is functional. The person whom I bought it from, however didn't have time to connect the remote throttle, elec start and killswitch to it. so it has a steering but you still need to sit at the back next to the outboard to drive it.

He has decked the entire boat to one level, and only left a tiny "cavity" for the driver to sit at the back of the steering wheel and another compartment for the passenger that closes with a lid.


Ive been looking online at deck layouts and would like to change it to be more comforable when your actualy riding on the boat.









can anyone suggest any plans of where to move the seating to and what else to do? How much does the throttle cost and an elec start?

any idea what remote throttles will cost? and what else you can recomend we still need to do on the boat?

Hey myspot welcome to the site.Would you mind giving me the dimensions of your boat just how long and how wide.I'm rebuilding a boat and it looks very similar in size and i find it a bit unstable.Have you put it on the water yet,if you did how is the stability.

Well. I dont have the dimensions as yet. Bit its aprox 4m x 1.7m I guess.

I thought about moving the seating a bit to the back where it is wider and that you can have a longer knose to stand on to fish off. I recon the more weight on the wider part of the boat will stabelize it a bit more.

Thanks Myspot that is exactly the same size then as mine but I guess it will get better as I ad weight to it I got it as a shell and will build and test as I go.(it fits nicely in my pool hahahahaha)

The guy who built this boat tested it in the pool. We still gotta test it in the dam after adding the throttle.
