Try and organise someone to head out to Mofam with you for the day. There at least you can fish off a boat and you will most definitely catch some nice fish if you can get someone that knows those waters to join you.

It seems there might be a need not only for going on fishing trips but actualy hosting a seminaar I think its time that all the tackle guys, pro staff get together and not only show case their product but give tips and advise on rigs and and how to fish them.

So lets share some ideas maybe a place like Qwaggas or Theewaters that have a club house that can host a few guys ar something even closer get a hall or someone with a nice big factory shed.

There is a need for this in Cape Town as we gave alot of newbies joining the sport.

Twk might be the better bet, its closer, has that big outside facility and a great pub. Anyone wanting to fish afterwards could paddle around in Yacht club bay to try out their tactics.

I like this idea as I would have loved to have someone showing me the ropes and tricks of the trade. 3 or 4 small tips from Pietman and my catch rate has improved 100%.
As for a training venue - may I put forward the idea of using a smaller, well stocked plaasdam, because on the bigger dams you can be at the wrong place at the wrong time and have a wasted outing. I have learned that the (my) key to catching is in the ability to detect the bite and knowing when to strike, and to practice that aspect, one needs to be on well stocked water.
There are farmers out there, only too willing to let their dams be used for good causes.

PS - I have a got an Explorer V Boat for sale. Good condition. R1000 should be a fair price.

We could look at the last BFSA MT event of the year at Kwaggas (5 April). If the guys attend the prize giving we could have a training session afterwards and maybe a late afternoon session with quite a few boats already there.

Another alternative would be to have a training session at Ol' Big Mouth and Outdoors. Alongs the lines of the TackleWare party we had a year or 2 ago in winter. All the local pro staffers' products are available for sale there. We could even look at a training session there and everyone travelling to a venue from there in convoy to test out the newly acquired skills. Maybe have a plastics making demo like we had last time by PM, Smurf, Nutt and any other plastics makers that are willing to share their skills.
