Best gear for bank fishing

Im planning on some bank fishing this weekend. What would you say are the best tackle to go for?

Where are you fishing? Plastic flukes and sinkos horry toads weight less work for me. Hoop that helps.

Going to try the dam across from the Bellville Veladrome. Water is pretty murky so I guess I should go for a bit more colorful lures.

I'm very new to bassing but I think I read that if the water is murky you use darker colours if its clear you use lighter colour. Read it in a magazine.
But like I said in very new.

Careful when fishing the quarry accross from the valedrome, i know of a couple of people that have been mugged there so maybe take somebody with you to watch your back if you were planning on fishing alone.

Spinnerbaits and cranks are always good Bank Bashing lures. You can cover a good amount of water quickly.

Shoot first. Shoot some more. And when everyone shady-lookin has buggered off, try throwing a fluke pattern :-)

I tend to find that grenades produce the best results.......no need for a rod or lures.

Simply pull the pin, throw towards the general area where the fish is and duck..........then simply go closer and pick the best fish of with your net.......
