Smallies in Gourits?

Does anyone know if there are any Smallies in the gourits river system?

Yes there are. Best fishing is in the Vaalhoek Conservation Area although access is a bit difficult/expensive. (1K per day) The fly guys go there often doing the Gouritz Grand Slam. Fishing starts in the upper reaches and ends at the mouth and you can catch anything from Yellows, bass, carp, Leervis, Grunter etc.

There's a trip planned for this coming weekend. 21st March.

I lived in gouritz for 5 years and only NOW i find out about this :blue-sad:

I recently fished a part of the gourits river right behind herbetsdale. Just launch the kickboat or tube from the bridge. I caught largies and a small smallie there . I used to go to kleinbrak river for smallies, but bottliers kop game farm expanded, now i cant get to my fishing holes..... but i still make a ninja mission into the elephant camp every now and then haha
