Power fishing

power fishing, it would be interesting to hear peoples thoughts on power fishing.
what it is , how to do it etc......

At a guess I would say it has something to do with Cranking and Spinning none stop and moving all the time! I would call it exhausting fishing? not really my style of fishing? I prefer to get in touch with my inner self and be at one with nature and rejuvenate the body with the energy of the water? no not really? hehehehe? but I would call my fishing relaxing with spurts of adrenaline and laughter when fish come aboard. But I would certainly not call what I do power fishing.

I totally agree with Rob on this one..I think power fishing is really active fishing, moving continously. I find fishing should be relaxing and time away from the hurried every day life, a sort of oasis in the desert, a place you want to be that is calm and free from stress, not hurried.

The way I see it, power fishing is any technique that targets aggressive bass. You would normally use big lures with lots of movement and work them fast.
The idea is that if you don't catch a fish from a piece of cover in one or two casts, then there's probably no aggressive fish around. Some people even take their lure out and cast again if a fish doesn't take it on the drop.

Power fishing is what you do when the wife padlocks your boat to the pillar and you need lots of power to pull off :lol:

Or when you get to the water, you use lots of energy to try and catch as many fish as the the person next to you finesse fishing. :lol:

rob you should try fishing shongweni on a kick boat that is relaxing and you get to fish an area really well. ... a 5.7.....5.4....and a couple of fish over 4 kg have been caught at shongweni the problem is there is a fellow that fishes there a lot and takes everthing he catches bass barble carp you name it he takes it if he catches it.

shongweni is one of the best dams for relaxing, just not on a wed. cause of the canoes... its club night for the canoes ,the perk is you get to fish till 9 pm .

warning dont use crankbaits or spinnerbaits unless you enjoy catching barble, there are monsters in the dam

once you get through the location into the dam there are all sorts of animals walking around and no gimme rubber worms, nobody shooting at you like what happened this weekend at inanda.

beware if you fish at inanda rocks, gun shots, sling shots all part of a relaxing day at inanda.

Hi Murdock? sticking on flippers and going manual isn?t my idea of relaxing? launching my boat and driving around the dam with the sneaker motor is? but yes I must try Shongweni sometime.

And I would love to try my hand at some big barbel? I will definitely throw some cranks there. Thanks for the tip!

Hi Pomerob? we have a problem with locals? ?gimmie plastics? and ?gimmie fish?? then sometimes when you don?t give them either they decide to throw rocks at you. We had it happen about a month ago and my fishing buddy chased the barstards but couldn?t catch them.

The on the weekend someone took a shot at a boat with a shotgun? No one was hurt but I don?t have any other details.

thats why you need a 250 hp motor to get away locals who now have floatation devices to get to your boat, i think its just a matter of time and the real problems are going to start at inanda. they have already started with the camp sites robbing people in fact a couple years already, if you plan on camping at inanda, make sure you dont leave anything lying around even when you are sleeping lockup and switch your vehicle alarm on.

electric fences dont help because they leave the gate open,gaurds dont help they sleep all night.
