To the Newbies....

I've been reading and watching every DVD out there as I'm have a bit of a hard time out on the water, so I felt that I needed to brush on some skills as I feel I have lost some beginner steps, so if it helps me I'm sure it can help you!!!!

Clear water
Some step you can follow which I feel can help you in getting those bass in the boat, many anglers are afraid of this type of fish but there is no need to be as you can and will get you those big bass!!!

1. cover as much water as possible , if you not getting a bit in an area leave and try somewhere else... you can always come back to the spot!!!

2.Match the bottom ( AKA match the hatch ) look alot of bait fish adapt to their surroundings , so way don't you...Camoflarge....remember the fish does want to be eaten so you will use the colour around him to blend in so take nosiest of the bottom colour and match your bait to it!!!

3.Cover...the bass in clear water don't hold onto cover as much as they would in stain water , so don't be afraid to throw that bait on the outside of the cover and bring it down the slop or drops...Use your finder to identify your different types of drops and humps.

4.Look out for the most windy banks as you can , this will give you the advantage of a stealth approach and will give you the upper hand on them bass. Plus the wind brings up all the flodder as the feed off all the weeds that the wind will bring up so the bass will follow as the bait fish will be in that area...were there is bait fish there is bass!!!!!

5.Lures that I enjoy using in the clear water are:

Spinnerbait...with a silver baits willow leaf , and burn the spinner in as you wanna keep the bait close to the top as you can , the reason you many ask is the it will mimic a bait fish more and the bass won't be able to determine the difference on the bait to a bait fish

Jerkbait...colour I like in the jerk is a flash colour, bring it in fast as the bass will hit it so hard man o man...same for top water the colours one will use are silver black and gold...use the sun to your advantage as the bass will only see the profile on the bait

6.Line chose..in clear water always down scale your line as it will be hard for the fish to see in the water , you can also use green line...but the golden rule for clear water fish the bait faster than you would normally do!!!!

Muddy and Stained water

1.New muddy....look for hard surfaces and shallow , warmer or faster moving water. What I mean here is look it is easy to get fish in this type of water than other, you can get closer to them so you will have better casting accuracy which means you can get it right into the structure

2.Use nosie baits , use sents...look it is harder for the fish to locate your bait so why not help him!!!

3.Bass hold on to structure when the water is dirty so find trees are stumps , what so ever...if you think there is a bass there they will be there. Use your copper or painted blades on your spinner , use bigger blades and try and find those lay down and fish them. One golden rule for all these types of fishing be quite and use the stealth mode as much as you can , as the bass are very clever fish so try and out smart them!!!!!

Fishing Pressure

We all worry about this as our water get hammered week after week , so try some of these tips and maybe they can help you in boating some fish

Down scale on your bait and tackle, cast more and into different spots if you are fish a lay down or any type of structure. do slow down and maybe try different baits in an area always come back to an area and give it a bash again as you might have just miss the petrolling school...Use everything you can meaning all the dips and scents you have, I'm sure you will get into some bass if you follow these step as they have helped me in the passed

Thanks for the info Bassanator i agree 100% . I often find myself going back to basics when the fishing ia tough or are those the cofidence lures we talk about ? I really would love to tap some of you pro's minds , but there are just tooooooooo many questions what is second nature to you on the water i still gotta learn.
