Boat Lighting

[kuipie]

Who does night fishing? My question is about boat lighting. What kind of lighting do you use on your boat, and on your person when fishing at night?

Hi Kuipie,

Once again I think it's a personal preference thing, as long as it's not a direct light in your eyes. I use two main lights, under-dash flourescent and a Petzl Tikka XP headlamp(never go enywhare without it).

I look forward to hearing what everyoune else uses, good post kuipie.

I have a light on a pole at the end of the boat? a little one by the consol and a headlamp? but I haven?t done any night fishing yet.

Barble fishing at Inanda at night is good fun, no lights appart from a head lamp and lost of beer. Use a gps to get back to camp site. 8O

I use a headlamp and a plug in spot light. I also have a cute little cigarette lighter light.

on the boat you have your nav lights which is law and then you use a light called a blue light which makes you fishin line glow to the intrance of the water so that you can fish plastics and see the pick up on the line , when you fish with that light on its a bit like starwars with this glowin line movin around that is for the fish part and the travel part its advicable to use a spot light that plugs into a cig lighter just need to make sure that the wires can take the amps for the spot light , and then you good to go. never just rely on the Gps at night because of two things floatin logs and guys that dont have lights on their boats and think its safe to fish with out lights

Good idea with a blue light Bassa, I would not have thought of it. Ideal!

Is it a tube, bulb, spot ?????

[robdog]

It must be a "black UV" light

Between, the console lights, spotting light and now a new blue UV light I will look like.
