I had to do exactly the same. Went to a Supplier Rah-Rah session that finished at 13h00, and too late to load and drive 6 hours to Groenvlei. :blue-evil:
now have been promised the Sunday off (Mother's Day) to allow my gf to entertain her family. Will go to Little Princess on the rubber duckie.

Don't think we will fish the comp though. Have too many new toys to try out.

My big shipment of Floatbacks have arrived and the photos don't do justice to some of the colours.

As Navrik says,

You have to look at them in natural light . The vibrant color effects of Floatback lures cannot be seen in photos.
Even in the dark recces of tackle shops. Norman use sparkle to catch the anglers eye !

Is Mteri currently fish-able? We heard some war stories about the place recently.

Thanks Navrik, will do and get back to you. It is unclear as to what is going on at Mteri re the Nhongo camp, there are negotiations going on between Tongaat and the local community so we hear. For day fishing there is no problem. The dam is currently very low and has been fairly tough fishing through the hot months, plenty small stuff but nothing over 3kgs...well not on my boat anyway! Hopefully it will improve soon!

Local community meaning those who rule the roost, such as so called "war vets" and self appointed dictators etc. Tongaat have to tread carefully I'm sure whilst that water goes to irrigation! Africa isn't for sissies, that's why it will remain third world cos even the dictators and rulers wealth is abroad!
