...What I have also noticed is that all our dams go through cycles of good and bad, it is exactly the same with our oceans and one can see this in the annual catch returns of commercial fishing industry. lets take the squid industry in P.E for example. in 1990 the scientists said the industry will never recover, but 5 years later there was so much squid they could hardly sell the stuff....

morning chaps, please understand that I am not saying its ok to let fish die, because it will do the system good. What I am saying is that as bass anglers we already all do our best to not let fish die, it is not our intention to do harm to the fish we so enjoy and as per Rip Rab, we should do more if possible to keep them fresh and healthy.

Brenden - no need whatsoever to defend your statements. As with anything in life, there is only so much space for **sholes and unfortunately fishing has it's fair share of these!

Chaps, sometimes fish die or get harmed, get over it. However, once we confine them out of their natural environment, then we have to take the responsibility to manage them and that may from time to time mean we have to kill (as in morsdood) some for their own benefit. Killing for the sake of killing is either barbaric or for survival and it is as ethical as a lion killing a kudu for survival - you decide but fishing is afterall a bloodsport. Sorry to chuck the red wine with the onions....again. :blue-smile:
