Who here has been using the solunar tables for Bass fishing?
What's your opinion?

I use them when I remember to.It was full moon this weekend and I got 14 fish at Albert falls within 2 or 3 hours.The biggest was 3.4kg and the others varied from 1,8 kg's down to 700grams.
I have caught well when the lunar phase looks bad too. If it works I wouldn't swear by it though.I do however have more confidence when I head out full/new moon......... and I swear by confidence.
I don't actually care to be honest.A day on my boat fishing..............good or bad is worth it.

Q, not using the moon phases for bass fishing is like dancing without music. It is possible but it is just not right. :blue-biggrin: But like Clicker said, I fish no matter what the lunar system says but I always keep an eye on the Angler's Edge Plus to see what the moon and sun phases are when I fish as well as the pressure.

I also don't use it to fish, but are just curious if it works. I don't think I would want something that are going to tell me when to fish, it will just befuddle my brain. But I think for interest sake, I'll be checking if it works.

I got a bunch of apps and stuff and they said good fishing and i have blanked ,they said stay at home i went fishing and had a great day. i don't believe much in all these things but they help to pass the time between fishing sessions if you get what i mean.i also got a fishtec watch which is good fun but same story.

I believe in it. Fish are definitely more active around moon/sun set and moon/sun rise everyday, but the weather also has a massive influence on fish. How I see it is that if the conditions are perfect you will get more bites around moon/sun set and moon/sun rise. I will always try to be in a more productive area around these times, as your chances of catching bigger fish are better.

Now imagine this:

I shake you awake at 3am and shove a wacky Wednesday in your face and expect you to eat it. Meanwhile, I didn't know that it was your brothers bull party last night and besides your hormones running wild, you chowed a 800g fatty rump steak at 11:30pm and are definitely not lus to eat!

Scenario 2: I shake you awake at 3am and shove a wacky Wednesday in your face and expect you to eat it. This is exactly 28 days later and the weather, pressure, moon and conditions are exactly the same but the days are slightly longer. You haven't eaten a decent meal in days cos the hostel food isn't lekker and you haven't been feeling well so going out for a burger hasn't really been a priority. You scoff that wacky and there's still place for more.........

Ninja, what is the most important for you from angler's edge, the solunar or pressure?

It is a combination of both, a massive drop in pressure with the sun/moon rises far apart plus a full moon will be the ultimate condition for fishing. You can through a shoelace and the bass will chow it. :blue-biggrin:

i find that the best way/time fish is to GO FISHING and like IKE says let the fish tell you what they want and were they are.

my last few trips:

jun 5: 1,7kg on topwater (cold after a front)
jun 8: 1kg spinner (in rain)
jun 9: 2 x 1,5 + 8 between 800g - 1kg topwater and spinner (cold after front)
jun 16: 5 x 900g - 1.2 topwater, jig and plastic (2 days after front)
jun 18: 2kg topwater and 1kg spinner (just befor front)
jun 23: 2 x 900g spinner and plastic (day or two after front)

i have no idea what the moon was doing or what the pressure was and it was all times of the day, but i can tell you that if i stayed at home (or had to work in an office :blue-biggrin: ) i wouldn't have caught any of those fish! wish i got to fish a bit more though :blue-biggrin:

HA HA ninja............... I often fish alone and during the week. I am not the tallest person around so suffer from short arm syndrome.The 3,4 I caught looks good on my cellphone pic............that's if you like seeing from the eyes down to just past the dorsal fin.
I must say that Alberts is fishing well for me at the moment :blue-biggrin:

At 3am when the alarm goes off for a fishing course and it it is all cold and rainy I normally snuggle up to the missus and whisper in her ear, "Inter-course or Fishing-course" and she always says "Don't forget your rain suit" :blue-biggrin:

Post it! The reports on BFSA have been far and few between of late. I myself have been guilty of not posting reports of my midweek outings anymore. :blue-doubt:
