Skill vs Luck

howdy boyz.
what is the deciding factor when fishing. skill or luck?
i think sitting on yer @ss gooing pap and catching a fish is luck, but hunting for bass needs some skill...???
on the other hand what if you're not catching bass and everybody around you is moering them dik?
on saturday i went fishing with 4 blokes and 3 chicks. they all blanked using the same lures as me...from my tacklebox :? i caught 5 whilst standing right next to them....mmmmm
one laaitie however caught a leka blue kurper on a crank. lucky

my friends asked me for the muti i use...i told them no roll-on and no deo, i smell like a pig after fishing :lol:

There is no doubt that Luck and Skill play a part? and I have discovered after a year fishing for the green fish that Skill plays a really important part.. sure we are all lucky sometimes and hook a big one because our bait is in the right place at the right time at the right speed etc? but if there was no skill in bass fishing then it wouldn?t be a big sport? and the reason certain people tend to do a lot better than others is because of skill? ok they also use ?tools? which I?m not a fan of and feel it is unfair? like dropping brush piles and feeding fish with spiked dog food cans etc? but while the rules allow it they will continue to do it? I just don?t like it.

But skill is critical and luck sure helps!

It must be luck! As a newby, only beeing fishing for a year, I have three fish over 3kg and one over 4kg to my name and I am still labled as a 1HW....so it must be luck. Cant wait for the skill to kick in! :lol: :lol:

Jokes aside, every thing I have learned from this site is tried and tested on my fishing trips and I can see the difference as the skill improve. When the fishing is hard, thats when the boys with skill are still able to pull out the fish.
