Hey seadog!!! Your first line was that you lost ure first forum post on this subject..... Well it's under Norkies "need HELP" forum heading boet.... Looks like too many Tafel lagers for you boet!!!!! LOL......

I wear my Sharks cap whenever I fish.... Except when it is F((*&%g cold..... Then it is temporarily replaced by my Springbok beanie..... Lately I've concidered hiding the badge though.... but then saturday they pull off a nail biter and I can leave the badge showing for a while!!!!! LOL.......

Sun tan lotion is for girls, you stay at home. Once on your fingers and the bait is spoiled for the rest of its life, wife packs it in, I do squirt some out on the rocks before the launch it shows that the level has dropped, do not piss mommy off fishing time is few, looks like bird poop but the rocks won't get cancer..conservation rocks man.

Yep only my son gets marinated with it though, protect him from the sun i will be in long sleeves and under my hat.

Am I supersticious?...no just some ground rules.

Hi Lukus.
Ask Fab what my hands look like !!! The sun is a nasty thing. You can get alcohol based swabs that have a factor 30 protection and they are odourless and completely non greasy. If you use that on your hands, you don't have to worry about baits being spoilt and on your face it doesn't feel like someone has painted you with acrylic PVA.

Thanks for the tip Drew. I will have a look. The thing is i would rather not spoil my fishing but yet Africa is a tuff place and you have to respect nature and its forces.

What I am trying to get accross is to stay away from the chemicals. the swabs sound brilliant. is it available at most pharmacies or angling shops

Hi Lukus.
I first came across the stuff when I played golf. They sold it in the pro shop. I have seen them at a few sports shops. Just be careful and make sure you get the alcohol based one. There are other sachets you get, but they are oil based and you may as well use normal sunscreen.

Yip I fished with drew over the weekend boet... and if he doesn't lather himself with sunblock..... Well I wouldn't like to see him after seeing his hands... Even I used his sunblock.... Been in Natal for 32yrs and I have loads of respect for the sun....

By the way..... we both used sunblock and both caught fish.......!!!!
