I can't fish

hey i really need help i cant fish plastics colour size and make im getting really upset that i go to a dam and caught nothing lookn i know u have those days but like a the vaal not a bit ant rust de not a bit but the boat next to me is just hooking one by one am i tring to hard or am i fishing wrong using the wronge baits what :blue-question:

Best to go out with a seasoned basser and learn from them.Books might teach you a bit , but time on the water with a knowledgable basser will be the best option.Good luck.

Bassanator I feel for you, I also spent many fishless days on or near the water before I caught my first bass (that was quite a way back). At that time we didn't have the amount of information available that we do now, pretty much all that was available was the late Charles Norman's book, "Bass Fishing in South Africa" (I think that's what it was called), it helped me on the way to my first fish. It's still as relevant today as it was then, if you can get hold of a copy I can highly recommend it.

There are a couple of bass related magazines out, my suggestion is to pick up a copy at your local CNA, also many tackle shops have videos that you can hire, the staff in most of them are also usually more than happy to part with their wisdom. It makes sense doesn't it, if you catch fish you'll be back to buy more kit. Some of them are USA focused but a bass is a bass, wherever it lives. But the best way to catch bass is to have a line in the water, as Bergie says Fis, Fis and Fis often.

What the guys have said about reding is true to some extent. You need to read, read and read some more. The net is packed with some great and useless info so use it wisely. At theend of the day though you definitely need to go out with someone and let them show you the ropes. Reading can only help so much. What is important is to learn how to read the water you are on on the day, only experience will help with that.

First get the basics down and don't be dihartened if you only catch some small fish in the beginning, I think we all did. Over time your skill will improve, remember if you start bass fishing it means you are in it for the long haul! I have been playing this game for over 16 years and am still learning...

Something to look forward to is the day that you nail that monster, the days of small fish will all be worth it! Good luck dude and go fishing!!!

Well, I’m a Pro .. not a pro as in professional but as in Pro staff member .. :blue-evil: :blue-badgrin:

There are many things that can be a part of your problem, line size .. line color .. weight size .. retrieve speed .. and the list goes on! I noticed that I get way more bites with lighter line, so I will be fishing 12lbs max on my worm. I feel that tungsten weights are the way to go as it gives you more sounds on the bead when fishing texas rigs.

We must go fish together one day and we can check if we can resolve your problem.
