Good day gents wanting head out next week for a day of fishing. Not sure where to go. Never fished qwaggas and havnt fished twk in about 10 years.  If i go to twk is the dam wall side or the bridge side. Where else can you launch besides at the club. What spots/areas are best at qwaggas?

Hello everyone, 

I am very new to this forum and by no means an experienced bass fisherman but I just thought I'd give a little report on what fishing is like at Le Bonheur at the moment. 

I went there yesterday with a few newbie friends. The weather conditions were perfect. Overcast and not too hot in the morning. The condition of the dam is rather macabre though. Unfortunately the summer has brought a lot of algae and grass. When I went there last time the water was nice and clear to the most part, which was in November last year. This time around the water was super murky and smelled like a proper dam. Visibility was around 20 cm, I found dead baby bass on the shore and throughout the whole day I saw one guy catch two bass. It looked like he was fishing with a bobber and earthworms and I saw him pull out one monster early in the day. They left at about 12am as it was heating up quite a bit. 

I left at 5pm that day having tried everything, spinner, rapala, topwater, softplastic etc. And I had absolutely no bite. My girlfriend saw one bass trailing her jighead worm but he didn't want to commit. 

The fish there are currently extremely lethargic because of the water conditions and it seems that the new spawn is suffocating due to the high algae build up. 
But yeah. Just thought I'd give an update on the conditions there. 

Hopefully the breeding sized bass will make it through the summer and we will get some decent rain this winter.

I am based in Stellenbosch and picked up freshwater fishing after a long while last year. I have been lurking on this site but thought it was time to sign up and introduce myself.
I am from Namibia and am mostly a saltwater fisherman (kabeljou, etc.), but I did my fair share of carp and bass fishing when I was younger.
Over the last couple of months I caught a bass at a little dam in Onderpapagaaiberg in Stellenbosch, one at the Croc farm, one at Vygeboom dam in Durbanville, and I tried my luck to catch one of the monster Tilapia at Eikendal, but they showed absolutely no interest in bread, corn, or peas. But I rate I saw about 20 massive Tilapia and one brute of a carp just chilling.
But yeah. I am pretty much open to any suggestions for decent shore bass fishing in the general Cape Town area. I do not own a float tube or a kayak, so shore fishing is all I can do. And if anyone has any suggestions for some sea fishing as well please shout.
Nice to meet you all and I hope bass fishing will be revived in these parts soon.

Hi Guys

I used to fish KBT's on the Froggy v boat then later upgraded to the Pisces. I unfortunately had to sell it back when i was still a student and needed money for books (whihc also ended my KBT days and bass fishing in general)

Anyway i am working now and KICKING (get it) myself that i sold my pisces because i see they are quite a bit more expensive now.

Was wondering if anyone perhaps have a spare one laying around that they are willing to part with or can point me in the direction of a cheaper alternative / know of someone selling a second hand one.

WANTED: Bass boat in the 100k Range, want to take my fishing to the next level. Do anybody know of a boat that wants a new loving home, would prefer the boat to be kitted already.
Also some input on the things to lookout for and what boats is the best in the price range?
