We are a group of owners that offer our apartamentos Zahara de los Atunes to rent for weekends or weeks. The beach of Atlanterra is one of the best for fishing, snappers, sea breams, sharks ... and more. For those who want a few days of beach and sea in this paradise, you can write me to heminway@gmail.com.

I have seen on this forum and others that these are not bad spots near Cape Town.
IS anybody willing to help with more info, GPS Co-ords, pricing and whether fishing is still allowed there or not?

I have tried google searching both of these places and not much comes up.

PESCA Rods - Any Good? Posted by: Chrisenthran - 10-25-2019, 12:25 PM - Forum: Rods - Replies (8)

Hello guys,

Was wondering if anyone, especially those not affiliated with the brand, has any experience with this rod line-up?
Seems to be a home-grown product (i could be wrong because literature is in short supply) and would prefer to support if the quality is there. The price is nice.
They seem to have a technique specific lineup which makes it quite simple, but there are absolutely zero reviews or discussions anywhere available to me.

I'm looking for a heavy power rod to double for pitching, punching and frogs etc. The budget is what it is hence the questions about PESCA.

Any input would be appreciated.

Kurper Connection Posted by: Chrisenthran - 10-16-2019, 04:13 PM - Forum: Bass Fishing In General - Replies (1)

Howzit guys,

I've read several times in these forums how kurper, in their myriad forms, are the main forage for bass in many of our dams. I've found that between imitating kurper, juvenile bass and crabs I'm pretty much set most of the time. The only exception would be Florida Lake i guess, that place is full to the brim of those perch.

What i cant seem to find is really in-depth information on kurper(all info is generally related to catching them). I tried searching, but couldn't find any real information about when and where they spawn, their habits when young through to adult sizes and such. I know kurper like vegetation and warm water, but that's about as far as my experience with them goes.

Any info from the seasoned veterans would be helpful.

PS.  It's such a petty that all the old photos in posts are unavailable.

Okay i managed to find some interesting stuff posted several years ago, http://www.bassfishing.co.za/thread-7709...ght=kurper

Great info. Please feel free to add any of your own experiences or information.

Stocking bass and bluegill Posted by: DJP - 10-04-2019, 04:33 PM - Forum: Bass Fishing In General - Replies (7)

Hi bass people,

There is a nice little dam close to my house that I want to put some fish in. It's an irrigation pump dam but has water throughout the year. They flushed it last year and the fish all went into the much larger dam below (100m away), so currently there aren't any fish in it.

I want to restock it with some bass or bluegill from the bottom dam.

Do I introduce the bluegill first and let them settle / spawn for maybe one season or should I just introduce the bass? There are plenty of frogs and other things for the bass to eat so don't think a couple bass will clean up the food supply. The idea will be to have a lunker pond with just big bass, I will cull the small ones by taking them back to the bottom dam.

Any other good tips for stocking?

Stanford Fishing Posted by: kable13 - 09-26-2019, 09:12 AM - Forum: Western Cape - Replies (1)

Hey guys

I'm pretty new here. I've done some fishing in the past but almost never exclusively for bass.
I'm going to Stanford this weekend and looking for some advice. I know there's bass around there I'm just not sure where. I've heard there's a small dam in the town, there's obviously the river and apparently the Stanford Hills wine estate allows free fishing in their dams.

I have no idea where in the river to fish, if fishing at the dam is safe and allowed or what lures to use?

Have any of you guys fished the area and know where to catch? I have had to beg the missus to allow me a few hours to fish so I'm hoping to pull at least a few fish out to make it worth while.
